I can't tell if the awful U.S. reporting on the Olympics is because outlets are looking for stuff to turn into memes and clicks or because they are genuinely stupid and don't realize they are being used as propagandists

I feel like it is an appropriate time to bring up that not everyone that are e.g. journalists for CNN or ABC or NBC or NYT should be attacked and get their lives threatened for a Tweet or article from their respective outlets.
Should they answer why it was published though? Yes.
