The House just passed the Emmett Till Antilynching Act, a bill to make lynching a federal crime, with a vote of 410-4.
The members who voted against it:
-Justin Amash
-Thomas Massie
-Louie Gohmert
-Ted Yoho
Conversation
For a decent amount of time during the vote, there were 9 no's. and I watched in the chamber as several of those members slowly changed their votes to yeses as the vote went on: Paul Gosar, Chip Roy, Andy Biggs, Ralph Norman, and at the last minute, Steve King.
Yoho tells just now that he opposed it because he believes itβs an βoverreach of the federal governmentβ and would infringe on states' rights.
