So money is a bigger motivator than loss of life? Not surprising perhaps but jarring seeing the headline on the page.

Layers. Two main things that I hate--aside from the police brutality, of course--is 1) qualified immunity & 2) people assuming that when a city settles, the cops are paying those amounts. NOPE. WE ARE. So still, cops have no consequences for their vile actions. Amerikkka.

Police abuse the citizens and the citizens pay the fines.

Oh I believe in police forces,WHEN , They have proper training. I don’t want our police force to be scared.I want them to be able to communicate better. I want them to connect with the people they are serving & understand human nature.We expect them to be Therapist, they are Not.

Why don’t police have to undergo rigorous training/testing and be required to carry personal “malpractice” insurance to any cover lawsuits related to their actions?

Here in the Denver area, a local city counsel doubled down and passed a resolution completely removing any financial responsibility from cops for bad acts.
