  10. So many people have already talked about how great The Warmth of Other Suns was and let me be the latest: it’s the best book I’ve ever read, and in a lot of ways, made me resent lumping black boomers $ those of other generations in with others. They haven’t lived the same lives.

  13. Tying it all together, I really only thought of Stevie as the sorta corny “I Just Called to Say I Love You” guy until I saw Jon B performing “Mi Cherie Amour” on “New York Undercover.” I’m sure I would’ve eventually been drawn to Stevie but I have Andre Harrell to thank for that
