With historic runoff turnout, no shortage of money or on-the-ground resources, & high-profile support from Beto, Markowitz still comes up 4 pts short of Dem candidate's performance in 2018. Hard for TX Dems to spin this one

Clinton got 43% in 2016; O'Rourke 48% and #HD28 candidate Meghan Scoggins (who had little $, no outside help) got just under 46%. Yes, there are structural disadvantages for Dems in off-year special elex, esp. in a strong GOP suburban district like this one, but still. Not good
