Over 20 million Americans are receiving unemployment aid.
***14 million people will lose that aid on Dec. 26 if the relief bill isn't finalized***

See my other tweet. It's not "skewed" it is simply a matter of which number media outlets prefer to use.
I believe you need to include PUA as well b/c those people matter too!
You can see full data set on page 4: dol.gov/ui/data.pdf

Simple answer:
803,000 is seasonally adjusted *new* regular UI claims
869,000 is non-seasonally adjusted *new* regular UI claims
397,511 is non-seasonally adjusted *new* PUA claims
I add the bottom 2 numbers to give best reflection of new claims

I don't see how it can be done in time now - even if trump doesn't veto, he will likely drag his feet signing.
And over 15,000 retailers and at least 10,000 restaurants are closing between now and the end of January including entre malls. Massive unemployment. Which means they also lose their benefits.

That’s nearly the entire population of Australia and nearly double the working population
The chaos in Washington, passing a bill and leaving town without knowing if this guy will sign it is crazy because he is unhinged. Think of the 14M folks about to lose benefits. Do something now. @senatemajldr
So we are hovering at around 6%.
1948-2020 averaged 5.77%
Of course thats just people collecting unemployment.
