That looks so much like my own family farm, now also long gone. There was a big wave of small farms collapsing in the 80's. It was assumed then you could really only survive if you were big and had the volume. Honest work, important work, but nearly impossible as ever to succeed.

WI resident here. Farmers love them some Trump. His signs are all over . It was pretty damn clear from the get go that Trump did not understand much about farming or farmers. Somehow dems need to figure out how to make some inroads with the farming community.

I drove through rural NE Wisconsin (Manitowoc, Kewaunee, and Door) in August and was shocked by the number of Biden signs I saw. There were still more Trump, but the parity was better than I thought it would be.

What a sad story.
@ScottWalker killed the dairy market for Wisconsin farmers by pumping production without a whole-system understanding, & then@realDonaldTrump was elected, a one-two punch few generational farmers survived. So many families are hurting & will never be the same. -
I don't understand this - increasing production without having a market. Cdn dairy farmers only produce what we can use domestically. Sellling to us was doomed- Cdn dairy cows aren't given antibotics & no one wanted to buy US milk. (It's gone from our stores as no one bought it.)
