A couple of thoughts on today’s military ceremony (before we go full on Invictus). There was absolutely no hand-holding or PDAs this morning from Harry & Meghan. And Meghan was wearing Emilia Wickstead! I’m sure you’ll remember the off-the-cuff, not entirely complimentary, quotes from her that appeared in the DM gossip pages about Meghan’s wedding dress. EM never denied the quotes (which was v interesting). Just shows M likes her designs!
Wording of the memorial plaque H unveiled today says: “opened by the grandson of the Queen” to echo the original opening plaque (in 1934 by Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester) that said “opened by the son of the king” it was to focus on the people lost, not the one who opened it.
