Given all the muggings that have happened to friends while in SF for GDC, I'm very surprised/glad I didn't just die when I walked through The Tenderloin by myself like a fool last November.

Yeah not specifically GDC but just SF in general. Friend of mine had someone assault him on Market Street and tried to take their coat. It would surprise me though if people were targeting GDC specifically.

Yikes. Who steals a coat? Well, cold people, makes sense, as does the targeting GDC thing, a bunch of people that can afford a trip to the US for a conference who aren't familiar with the city... SF & the US is a bit scary.
