I had thought that booleans were implicitly initialised to false when they are created as member variables of a class, in C++. But apparently this isn't true? Curse C# for confusing me..

I'm no expert, but In my experience they tend to be false in debug builds. In optimized builds this isn't guaranteed. Differences in debug and optimized behaviour is often due to uninitialised variables.

This has been my experience as well. It's unfortunate as it makes tracking down these bugs particularly difficult when they slip in unnoticed. We had this problem on #Obliteracers, uninitialised float caused the camera to glitch out every 20 mins or so, retail builds only. Fun!
