d) Worthy of legal advice. I think it'll come down to your contractual agreement with them. Even under fair work laws I think it would depend how the income is classified as to what protections you have. But definitely doesn't pass my ethical smell test.

Unfortunately the contract is very vague, and HQ is overseas. I want to avoid legal. I'll try internal channels first. But it's been over a week of silence so far. Such as sucky exit from such a great job.
Yeah understandable. You might be able to negotiate a compromise to avoid getting lawyers involved if both parties think they've done the right thing, that's basically what I did with my last role.
