one last thing on this to note, he's sleeping next to a mole wearing a bowler hat who is much easier to silhouette. So he's got that going for him.

(the OTHER thing is, this is cropped/zoomed. he's only about 1.5 inches wide on the page, so small things only go so far for squinty in the back. i can do them, but silhouette is the main thing)

(do Zs = sleeping in other languages that use the latin alphabet? are there one-character equivalents for other alphabets?)

*important: you'll have been introduced to him a few times earlier, this is just the first time you'll be seeing him sleeping, and the text doesn't say anything, but maybe it'll be ok. Also, i'm considering Z's, but I don't know if it'll pose too many problems for other languages

this morning's problem is what is the clearest silhouette to show a sleeping snake who is wearing a beret. If you're in second grade sitting the back of the class & squinting you still gotta know what this is.

We've been reading this book every morning, and every time I'm like, yep, that's the Senate impeachment trial.

gotta say, wish I'd thought of the title "The Room Where It Happened" for a scary picture book or something. that's a really good title.

(btw does anyone know what this process might be? the grain on that first one, in the sky...is that just a printing thing after the fact or is it a technique...?)

i tried to use the stars the same way, how when you see them at the beginning you don't know why, but then at the end they make sense. endpapers are fun when you get them.

. reminded me of the first & last shots of the film are a big starry sky & the endpapers to "We Found A Hat" are a nod to that.
