Let me introduce ripgrep, a grep/ag/ack alternative written in Rust.

Thanks for the heads up! I misremembered min version from the time I installed it the first time. Updated post. The benchmark was not supposed to be scientific. Just a rough idea of what you should expect in common usage. There’s a link to your page for if someone wants that.

Thanks for updating! I still disagree with the benchmark though. Proficient grep users will use xargs to run grep in parallel over a large directory.
