Would love to do the same with ripgrep, but unfortunately its options are very different from grep.

ripgrep has -e, -f, -F, -i, -v, -w, -c, --color, -l, -m, -o, -q, -s, -H, -n, -A, -B, -C, -a. Wouldn't call that "very different." :-)
