My MacBook Pro 15" (Late 2013) is the best computer I've ever had. It still runs like it's new. And I've never needed more than 16 GB ram.

I have an Esc key, but haven't touched it in months. However if I did use Vim, I would just repurpose Caps Lock instead.

Battery still lasts for 6-8h. I would buy the new one for the weight & new keyboard, other than that, nothing needs changing.

Before this one, I had an MacBook Pro 17" (Mid 2007) that lasted me for 6 years. It still runs fine btw.

That's what investing in quality gets you, and that's why I would choose a MacBook Pro even if it was to run Linux on it.

And why macOS. I solve enough problems when programming and doing open source. I want my system to *just work* and look nice.

It's on my todo list, but waiting for it to mature.

Is there anything specific you're waiting for? ripgrep has solid foundations and better gitignore support. :-)

Nothing specific. `ag` works fine for me, so if I'm to switch, I'd prefer something highly stable.
