I just upgraded my laptop for the first time in ~8 years. I went from a ThinkPad T430 to a System76 Darter Pro. I wrote up my thoughts on the laptop and my experience installing Archlinux on it: https://blog.burntsushi.net/system76-darter-archlinux/ …

I'm wondering, how it was when using System76 for 3 month

Good. I'm using it ~daily. My biggest complaint by far is the touchpad. It's a real bummer to be honest. The touchpad on the HP ZBook I use at work is just leaps and bounds better. It's more precise and is clicky.

The touchpad on my Darter is bigger than the one on my Thinkpad, and I think that is probably it's only positive. Everything else about is worse. I couldn't even configure it to properly detect my palm no matter what settings I used, so now I have tap-to-click disabled.

The only reason I still rate the laptop as overall "good" is because I don't use the touchpad often. Most of my workflow was already optimized for being keyboard driven anyway.

I bought this laptop under the impression that it was solid with high quality construction. I'm really disappointed that the touchpad doesn't live up to that.
