Visual Studio 2019 16.5 deprecated the old "Find in Files" result output in favour of a "new search experience". The experience is so great it never ends if I search for FinishCompilation in UE4 and scroll through the results. So not only is the UX worse, it's also more broken

I guess I'll just use RipGrep like VS Code does.

I miss VS 'find in files' when I'm using VSCode - mainly because code only has one results panel. I mean, there's probably an addon that fixes that, but still, didn't it occur to them that people would want to refer to one set of results while searching for something else?

Well, the good news is they removed that option in the latest version I'm talking about! They fixed something that wasn't broken... or rather, they broke something that didn't need fixing (apart from performance - they should just use ripgrep really)

Are their requirements documented anywhere? Maybe there is a reason why they can't use ripgrep.
