Because Linux and nvidia don't mix well. A web search should help there. Plus I've heard too many horror stories about bumblebee being needed on laptops.

And like, I don't have any need for an nvidia chip either. None of the system76 laptops with an nvidia chip are laptops I would want anyway. If I were okay with an nvidia chip, then I would have more strongly considered an XPS 15.
