I just upgraded my laptop for the first time in ~8 years. I went from a ThinkPad T430 to a System76 Darter Pro. I wrote up my thoughts on the laptop and my experience installing Archlinux on it: https://blog.burntsushi.net/system76-darter-archlinux/ …

I'm not quite sure what kind of release it is. They have major releases but also they keep some packages, like vscode, continually up to date.

I'm sure Pop!_OS is nice. As i mentioned, if i were an ubuntu user, then i would consider using it. Arch just has way too many other advantages (like rolling release) to give it up. No need to dig into this on twitter. Sorry.

And like, I don't have any need for an nvidia chip either. None of the system76 laptops with an nvidia chip are laptops I would want anyway. If I were okay with an nvidia chip, then I would have more strongly considered an XPS 15.
