Sorry, I guess I was just trying to recommend recruiting some sort of maintainer support system/group for handling/vetting issues and merging PR's ; probably a win-win for everyone if you can turn some contributors into future maintainers of other projects, feel me?

I can see how that idea seems appealing, but it's actually a lot more work for me. For some community driven projects like Rust (of which I am a moderator), this works great. But for smaller projects, growing a community around them is a *ton* of work.
