So ripgrep is amazing, but I can never for the life of me remember how to exclude files/directories. I _always_ have to look it up. I wish there was just a quick flag to exclude something.

Hmm, this? `rg foo -g '!exclude-me'`? I've long wanted to add --include/--exclude flags, but I don't think there are enough short options left available to provide shortcuts for those.

Yeah, I always end up finding it on the man page eventually. I think ag’s ignore flag is just stuck in my head. -g’s single quotes and ! throw me off. I understand why it’s that way, so I really can’t blame anyone but myself! That said I’d still love to see a dedicated flag

If ripgrep had an `--exclude` flag, would you use that over `-g '!...'`?

Same here. `--exclude` is usually the first thing I try, which fails, of course, and then I reach for the manpage.
