  1. Nature abhors a vacuum, and so does our collections storage! Paleontology received a new shipment of shelves and cabinets this week thanks to a grant from . Keep an eye out over the next few week as these shelves get filled with fossils! for scale!

  2. Happy ! You won't find these famous marmots scurrying around Washington, but you can find three other species of marmot here. One of them, the Olympic Marmot, is even endemic to the Olympic Mountain range!

    Feeling the dry season here in the Costa Rican rainforest! Fewer Piper species produce fruits during this time, which means more work/hiking in order to find fruiting plants to record and measure. I love being able to see the change in food resources nonetheless

    Leaf prepper has been making amazing progress on this huge block o' plant fossils at the ! See the before and after as he cuts out individual leaf and works through layers of rock to find some beautiful specimens!
