Lol no! I explicitly looked up that translation because I need the opinion of folks who regularly deal with the TSA. Fun fact: if you think 30 degrees is warm then you probably also think it's normal to wear shoes through airport security.

I didn’t know calipers were prohibited… will have to pack my Mitutoyo into checked luggage.

Depends on the officer, but "long metal object with pointy bits" sometimes triggers looks of concern and confusion from screening officers. Mitsutoyo's are wonderful but pricey, deserves a better fate than retirement into a bin with lighters and pocket knives...
