For those asking, Organ Traficking is punishable on conviction on indictment (which is what happened in this case) with a maximum sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment. However, where the offence involves false imprisonment or kidnapping, it is punishable with life imprisonment.
Just Now: Senator Ike Ekweremadu, 60, his wife Beatrice, 56, and Dr Obinna Obeta, 50, have been found guilty of an organ-trafficking charges by the Old Bailey Court in London.
It’s right to ask hard questions of our politicians and to scrutinise our institutions and systems, including our elections. But making up barefaced, dumb lies and selling them to gullible followers is not just wrong but also dangerous. Fake news will only undermine our country.
My reaction to this man compares to how I felt the day a professor of law told me that a fellow professor of law on their WhatsApp group believes and defends the conspiracy that President Buhari is a body double. I used to think no sensible person would buy this crass stuff.
I didn’t know what to say. This is a man who’s obviously lived in the UK for a while. I’d have thought that he’s more educated, or at least more exposed, than the average Nigerian. That he’d believe this trash to the extent of spewing it on a bus full of strangers is gobsmacking.
He said “the number one hacker in the world who’s Russian” had hacked into INEC’s systems and revealed the “true” results of the presidential election - “Obi got 55m votes, Tinubu is a distant 2nd and Atiku withdrew his court case” immediately after he saw the hacked results.
A fellow Nigerian sat beside me for four minutes on a London bus (he dropped after 3 stops) moments ago. What I heard made me extremely anxious about our country. Once he realised that I’m Nigerian, he unleashed a dumb conspiracy theory on the result of the presidential election.
10 states to watch during the upcoming governorship elections
Political Thuggery:
Kano
Sokoto
Bauchi
Gombe
Rivers
Lagos
Communal Violence:
Taraba
Lagos
Kaduna
Nasarawa
Many states are at risk, but the police and intelligence agents need to pay special attention to the above.
Thus, ensuring national unity should be the primary focus of the incoming administration & the first step towards this noble goal is for each group to be well-represented in government. I hope BAT/KSM will take this seriously and put It at the very center of their administration.
President-Elect BAT’s move to form a government of national unity is the right thing to do. Our country is endowed with diverse religious, ethnic and political groups - which would be a plus if harnessed. The last election has unfortunately polarised us even more.
The law only gave parties the right to be represent at every level. If any of them chose to relinquish that right, they're own their own. Even if they did this to say in a potential court action that they didn't participate in the collation, that won't add them any credit in law.
For those asking, the walkout by some parties from the collation of presidential results will NOT negatively affect the validity of the exercise. The law doesn't require party agents to be present nor are their signatures neccessary for the final result to be valid.
Violence and destruction have never, and will never, make things better. We have to have a country before we can talk of anything else. Being logical and farsighted always pay.
Being gracious in defeat and collected in extreme anger is even a better virtue. Losing one election is not the end of the world. Where there are legitimate grievances. Those should be ventilated in the manner stipulated by law.
Being magnamymous in victory is a noble character that only great leaders possess. Whoever wins this election should treat the rest with respect & dignity. The new admin should put together "a govt of national unity" in the real sense of the term. Our country is dying for unity.

My article on the Security Threats Facing Nigeria's 2023 Elections and what can be done to ensure secure and credible elections has just been published by
Our forces should bolster efforts to liberate affected villages; politicians must run peaceful campaigns and shun political thuggery. Imams & pastors should work against the manipulation of religion, and the media should be supported to fight fake news.
Boko Haram may try and stop rural communities from voting for ideological reasons. IPOB may target election officials and the police and impose a lockdown to disrupt the elections, while bandits may abduct election officials for ransom or other concessions.
The report reveals the four major threats:
1. Non-state armed groups, namely Boko Haram, IPOB and bandits.
2. Post-election violence
3. Political thuggery
4. Misinformation, especially on social media.
, I highlight the security threats facing Nigeria's 2023 elections and urge Nigerian authorities and their international partners to provide peaceful and credible elections.
With Man City's loss today, Arsenal is sure to be on the top of the Premier League table at Christmas for the first time since 2007. But we are also very likely to head into the World Cup break five points clear. Sceptics, how market?

We know that these terrorists have established presence around Abuja. They’ve attacked Abuja in the past and they’d love to it again. It’s likely that they’re planning attacks esp now elections are near. What will the govt lose if they said ‘we will examine the evidence and act’?
