They are delightful, shy predators native to American deserts. They can squirt a tiny amount of vinegar. They have no venom. And I'm trying really hard not to go off here, but I'm just livid about this fear-mongering

as a journalist, it annoys me to no end how it's acceptable to promote stigma against arthropods. from 'murder' hornets to 'disgusting' cicadas ... it's so sloppy and lazy and unscientific

Found this marvelous bagworm crawling up my porch chair yesterday. I have never seen one using my fir tree to decorate its case.
