Southern Flatcoil (Polygyra cereolus), like these specimens from our Collection, are a species of air-breathing land snails. This snail hails from the southeastern US, Mexico, and the Caribbean, and has been observed feeding on Red and White Clovers.

Check out this molten copper piece from our Collection. Copper (Cu) is a native element with a melting point of a whopping 1,983 degrees Fahrenheit. Copper is used as a conductor of electricity and heat because it is such a soft, malleable metal.

This lifelike wax model of a Broad-Leaved Spring Beauty (Claytonia caroliniana) was made by artist Paul Marchand in the 1940’s, who was known internationally for his intricate and realistic models. His work can be seen in many institutions, including the Smithsonian.

These crinoids from our Collection are related to starfish and lived in a colony on the bottom of a sea about 325 million years ago. When these ancient sea lilies died, they were covered with limy muds which later turned to stone and permanently preserved them.

Dating back to 1925, these socks from our Collection are hand knit from pure wool from St. Moritz, Switzerland. They would have been used under ski boots or skating shoes.

Recently got a new toy: a Canon Rebel T6. Telephoto lens can reach 300mm, but it lacks IS (image stabilization), so you have to be extra still. Planning on getting another lens with IS. In the meantime, I managed to get this nice photo of the Allosaurus’ skull at

There's a really cool process in the creation of this vesicular lava from our Collection. As magma rises, pressure rapidly decreases causing gases to be released, forming cavities. When magma reaches the surface, it cools and solidifies around the gas bubbles.
