crosses the line with dictating when and where drivers can drive. The taxi limousine commission has no such rule in place. enforced a limit of drivers a ride share company can have in Lyft is taking advantage.

Our office is beginning an inquiry into the disturbing reports regarding the lending and business practices that may have created the taxi medallion crisis in New York City. These allegations are serious and must be thoroughly scrutinized.

Tomorrow, join me in standing with Uber and Lyft drivers. Uber is a multibillion-dollar company. Its top five executives made $143 million last year. Their drivers should not be getting pay cuts—they deserve a living wage and decent benefits.

BREAKING: Uber is planning on filing a lawsuit today at 4:30PM to block NYC's historic vehicle cap. Our statement: 8 drivers have now died by suicide because of the crisis Uber created. That's why Uber drivers and yellow cab drivers from across the city united to win the cap.

This is not "congestion pricing". It's a taxi surcharge (and one which is unfair to the yellows). Only a system which charges a substantial fee to all vehicles entering central biz district will actually reduce congestion, and generate $1B/yr for transit.

“For years drivers have been working for less than minimum wage,” said Moira Muntz, a spokeswoman for the Independent Drivers Guild. “Show some good faith, and pay the drivers the raise they deserve.”

Today Lyft refused to pay drivers the minimum wage that our members spent years fighting for. On her first 2 Lyft trips this morning, one of our members lost over $10 because of Lyft's greed. Instead of this $ going to drivers, Lyft is withholding it pending their lawsuit.

People tend to overlook that drivers pay is so low it requires a yearly 7000 dollars plus to get to the MINIMUM pay rate. Remember when Uber was telling drivers they could earn 100ks per year? The got off light with a 20 million dollar fine for that.

CHECK THIS OUT - the "company-specific" utilization rate that and are suing on doesn't kick in until NEXT YEAR! So, they want to stop paying drivers a MINIMUM WAGE for something that might hurt them a year from now!! Complete disregard for hard working New Yorkers!

I’m outraged and disappointed that Lyft and Juno are seeking an injunction on new pay regulations that will finally guarantee a minimum wage for for-hire-vehicle drivers in New York City - the first of their kind in the country.

Lyft taking over half of what the riders pay as if drivers don’t have to pay for gas, maintenance and so on. That leaves drivers with less than what they were “paid.”

It's a shame that billion dollar companies Lyft & Juno are in court trying to block 's first-in-nation pay protection rules. The 80,000 drivers who benefit from these new rules deserve fair wages for the hard work they do, just like everyone else.

Unconscionable. The overwhelming majority of these companies’ drivers earn less than minimum wage. We won’t stand for it in New York City, and we’ll fight every step of the way to get workers the pay they deserve.
