Props to the athletes who never miss a workout, practice, or team function & are also able to handle the responsibilities of having a job. You might not know it now, but you’re learning a set of values that are going make you extremely successful adults. Keep up the great work!

HS kids: Don’t ever use the excuse “I’m doing my own work”. 9/10, you and your buddies aren’t doing much work. The amount of work your coach gets out of the team is important, so don’t think you’re above it. Truth is, nobody is.

The Cowboy’s have invested a ton of hard work in the weight room and on the field the first half of summer...back at it for phase 2!

Athletes: When you’re on a team, commitment means putting the welfare and goals of the team before your own. If you don’t do that in HS, why should college coaches think you’d be any different in college? It’s something we put A LOT of value in when considering offering a player.

Seeing many OLs at summer camps who are not creating force thru the ground due to playing ‘on their toes’. Watch ’s 3rd step, when he gets all of his cleats in the ground w/ his right foot, he is able to generate vertical push to displace the DL.

Double Forklift: good drill out of a fit position. A great counter move when blockers capture your chest. More tools in your toolbox!

Sample of how a “drill” can be progressed/manipulated. From telling which hole where to go & static starts. To more space, more speed & letting them choose. To 2v2 w/ teams. What you don’t see is the before & after- the Athletes talking, analyzing, giving feedback & strategizing

I told my daughter last night that in 20 years, she’ll take her kids to her HS to show them her state championship picture. Her club team will have changed names 20x with no rememberance of her or our team. Support high school sports!
