We've yet again responded to a health crisis by making it a matter of personal responsibility, blaming the unvaccinated for not getting a shot and throwing up our hands. There are plenty who refuse to get it, and I get being angry about that. But it won't help us reach the rest.

What works? Block parties with shots. Bringing vaccines to food pantries, shopping centers, churches, work sites. Offering real childcare and transportation options. And, of course, mandating paid leave for vaccination and recovery.

I think it's really difficult for those of us who know people who do not fit that 75% - the "young and healthy" (nephews), the elders & others who go to the doctors every other week but "big pharma/hoax, etc. (in-laws, hub's co-workers), or just don't vax (brother-in-law/friends)
