A shocking amount of people are wasting valuable time migrating off github. Do you have nothing better to do with your time?

I think its time well spent to get off
@github. Use a private server or@gitlab. Your code is your life work and does not belong to@Microsoft Freedom matters and#oss matters.@eren_niazi2 replies 2 retweets 5 likes -

And GitLab is better how? It’s VC backed and not a community owned thing, so not really any different. Telling yourself so does not make it otherwise.

@gitlab can run on your private server or be hosted on your own cloud. So you control and still own your data. You choose how it’s shared or used. So yes it’s million times better then@github owned by@Microsoft.@linuxjournal@fbOpenSource@fightfortheftr@TheRegister2 replies 1 retweet 1 like -

You need to take your Microsoft paranoia to the cleaners. Look at what they have said and done since Satya took over, and how much they contribute to both Linux and OSS in general. And just for completeness, GitHub also has an enterprise version you can run on your own premises.

Your fear mongering has nothing to do with freedom or opensource. It's just FUD sprinkled with free advertising for GitLab..
