I've written for a large variety of outlets and who's footing the bill (whether it's the govt, an individual, or a group) ALWAYS has an effect. That's just obvious.

NEW: Elon tells me Twitter is using this list to determine which media outlets receive the “government-funded media” label: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category: When I pointed out that NPR’s government support does not effect the network’s editorial decisions, he told me: “If you really… Show more

I went into writing because I wanted to write pieces that made ppl feel less alone in the world. The problem isn’t that ChatGP can now replace humans; the problem is that we started asking writers to produce content that sounds like it was crafted by robots.

Me and @nooralsibai wrote about how BuzzFeed is quietly publishing a bunch of AI-generated travel guide articles that feel WAY more cynical than what Jonah Peretti was describing when he announced BuzzFeed's use of AI futurism.com/buzzfeed-publi

Just putting it out there that #HughGrant has always been kind of a jerk. He admitted that was why he transitioned from charmingly befuddled roles in rom coms to being a womanizing dickhead in films like Bridget Jones and About a Boy.
I don’t follow football but judging from the number of cop cars outside the sports bar across the street I’m going to go ahead and assume the Eagles lost

Or, you know, because I actually worked for the CIA and know exactly what they do. Or maybe I just opened a book at some point in my life. I swear, these new-wave infowarrior types see the hidden hand of the Kremlin as the reason they got shorted a McNugget. Totally lost.

The only way you can think the CIA are responsible for pro-democracy protests around the world is if you’re dangerously stupid or you are disseminating lies on behalf of the Kremlin. Snowden is now less than a stone’s throw away from blaming them on George Soros.

If there’s one thing I’m sure of it’s that Joaquin Phoenix is phenomenal in Gladiator. He’s menacing, he’s pathetic, he’s all of the things

So pleased about this news. Nine years in a Russian penal colony over a bit of cannabis oil. Ridiculous.

Moments ago I spoke to Brittney Griner. She is safe. She is on a plane. She is on her way home.
President Biden speaks with Griner on the phone.

I use this same trick but while listening to a Hans Zimmer playlist. Makes answering emails feel like an epic quest that will save humanity.

How are people consuming news/reading articles these days? For a long time, I used Twitter, but, nowadays, I find I need to wade through a lot of garbage in order to find one story that I actually want to read.

I can already tell this is going to be so good. Marilyn Monroe is such a great/tragic example of women feeling the need to put on a performance for society.

Hollywood was her dream, but fame became her nightmare. Ana de Armas is Marilyn Monroe in Blonde, premiering September 23.

I wouldn’t be surprised, tbh. Toxic relationships are difficult to get out of. It’s like knowing eating another cookie will make you sick but wanting it anyway.

Sources told me Amber Heard has reached out to Johnny Depp to see if he wants to get back together. This is wild.

#JohnnyDepp not showing up for the verdict is a nice final touch. Makes it look like she's the only one on trial and he's the victim. It's mean, but well-played.

#camillevasquez is great but she's going too hard on the "this happy photo of you was taken after the alleged abuse so it never happened" beat. It's common, after a vicious fight, to feel shame and guilt that lends itself to feelings of intimacy. The vicious cycle is a cycle.
