  2. Erin, you didn’t address my concern. Do you think it’s ok to lie about the carbon policy 😀?

  3. That sounds ‘like let’s just let the planet burn up because we can’t stop it ...or stopping it means losing votes’. Pick a lane - but neither is very honourable.

  4. The pretence that people should worry more about a price nudge on energy use today instead of trying to put the brakes on the massive and rising costs of climate change is on offer by some politicians on the right. It's the opposite of a responsible fiscal plan, imo

  5. Erin, I'm pretty sure if you were CPC leader you'd have more honest kids running Twitter in your basement than does. ;) I hear you have pull.

I love seeing new and innovative tech being adopted by those in some of Canada's oldest, most established sectors. makes inroads at this small-scale Uxbridge farm -

As we observe the dismal consequences because this wasn't done in America in 2016, let's hope all organizations call out in Canada in 2019.

Hardly surprising if Rebel alum like Taylor & Marshall rail against a carbon price. Feels like swing voters may want to bring something more thoughtful than Rebel style tweets though.

not to be awkward here, Kelly, but the article you attach says "Nordhaus ...recommends that the governments of the world implement a carbon tax"

This would be a stronger argument if it was a) backed up by any evidence b) if Mr. Scheer could say how he knows leading economists & scientists around the world are wrong c) if he had a better idea. Otherwise just sounds like kids in the basement running Twitter account.

If a wall is "immoral," Trump says, then someone has to "do something about The Vatican," because "The Vatican has the biggest wall of them all." (The Vatican is not encircled by walls.)

Trump says he was all alone in his "big house" over the holidays -- "except for all of the guys out on the lawn with machine guns." He says that he's never seen so many machine guns, and they didn't even wave at him. He adds, "All alone with the machine-gunners."

Probably splitting hairs. But those who say only problem is a lack of political will should run for office & see how hard it is to galvanize support for these policies. Reversals in Ontario, the US, possibly next in AB signal we always need better, cheaper solutions too.

Many solutions exist, but breakthroughs that make them better and cheaper add crucial momentum. Politicians struggle to sustain support for policies that add cost or disruption which to me says we need both more tech advances and more political will.

Respectfully disagree, Dan. Every new iteration of science or tech that reduces the cost of solar or wind, improves energy efficiency, or lowers the cost of an e vehicle is crucial to progress IMO. These breakthroughs feed off solid policy & then reinforce political will.
