the more you QT your old tweets the clearer a sense you get of which ones meaningfully contribute to ongoing discussions, and you can start orienting to that as a metric as opposed to raw likes / RTs

you seriously will not understand how much better having custom search engines for tweets makes twitter until you use them long enough to search reflexively w/o thinking. in chrome go to settings -> manage search engines -> add, then add a search engine like thispic.twitter.com/YslJmtBL0X

one great thing about the app is you can search 'tweets from people I follow'. desktop jank version. total query can't exceed 500 characters 1 copy ~20 people you follow 2 paste them into advanced search 3 get the resulting url 4 do qc's thing abovepic.twitter.com/3YqjwAUthT
