I think this is... Not false but is one of those observations that is a very idealised and much nicer version of the true version, which is that vulnerability is sexy when it is controlled and set against a background of strength.

Nicely put. Contrast this with how unsexy a background of weakness and vulnerability overlaid with an uncontrolled projection of strength. Feels proper.

In the context of an existing relationship or friendship with guys in the last 8 years, I have personal found vulnerability sexy 100% of the time. Don’t know if they had a background vibe of strength but don’t believe they all did. Enough caveats for you?
