art loses its potency once over-used? becomes cliche. covering a song / riffing with the theme / fanfiction pumps the magic back in. composting.

take an artful film: princess mononoke or a beautiful song: once upon a december. feels like their meaning I experience is finite. too many re-watches and they're known, predictable. I need to forget about them, head off, become different. then a revisit can discover it anew.
