What is an excellent resource on the generic skill of 'coaching'? Like, not about some particular process but instead about the general skill of how to wisely relate to another human you are attempting to support.

Ooh! I have a straightforward resource recommendation, of a book chapter! (next tweet) And also I am very actively asking questions like, "What even *is* coaching? Is that a useful term to describe what I'm doing? Is there space in coaching for not knowing?" etc

Cavanagh's chapter in Beyond Goals is excellent! Talks about metasystematicity, and what forms of coaching are best suited for simple, complicated, chaotic, and complex states of systems. Also discusses a shift from goal to purpose orientation. https://static1.squarespace.com/static/56f581f83c44d8fc598bccbf/t/570ef3e0a3360c226a32ffde/1460597729733/Cavanagh-2012-The+Coaching+Engagment+in+the+21st+Century+.pdf … 1/
