It has a similar property to the "upper limit problem" (ULP) which is "I'm only willing to let my life get so great before I'll sabotage it." Helpful for self-inquiry, but trying to tell someone else that this is what you think they're doing is almost always anti-helpful.pic.twitter.com/fcwHb3E5ub
handy concept, I resonate with the *fundamentally flawed* sentiment, "there's something wrong with me". have you tried the book, recommended? sharing your own muddled dynamics, very helpful. Sharing your take on other peoples, not so much.

Interesting that we self regulate like that. I hadn't heard it before but makes a lot of sense. checks and balances between the subagents. a default local optima. It makes me think of certain emotional logic bugs where eg *I'm not allowed to think X*

Yeah, I recommend the book. Some of the tone I find a bit weird; overall quite powerful. Lots of other books by the Hendricks.
