I always feel sad when I think about how excited CS players are to see new maps, contrasted with how uncaring most SC2 people are.

I wasn't around for it, but were mappers ever really given recognition and consistent testing/interest in WoL? Or were they overshadowed?
hmm. cs has a 5-7x larger install base and minimum 10x active player base. do u think this is a factor? more ppl = more space for content

i mean sure, and steam is a much better place to share works than the god awful sc2 customs/arcade systems :/ so i gues its just many fctrs

Yeah I think that's the case, in CS you can actually make money of content like that.

but that's because valve pays their mappers when their stuff makes it live, we dont get anything
