There's a decent number of people here already - a little more than a hundred I'd guess, should be closer to two hundred by the time the show starts based on traffic. There's also some kind of fair going on outside the space, so people can wander in quite easily. Nice setup.

The focus of today's show will be StarCraft: Remastered. Attendees: lead engineer on SC:R Glenn Davies, Artosis, Day9 and iNcontroL.

So far this has been a surprisingly technical discussion with some nuanced discussion of the SC:R meta. I think the intended audience must be StarCraft fans, not random Blizzcon attendees.

Mr. Davies bringing up a good point that StarCraft has a large number of viewers who don't necessarily play the game.

Artosis asking about the age of the codebase, and Mr. Davies is pointing out the daunting nature of looking at a source file with Mike Mohraime written at the top as an author.

Mr. Davies noting the original code base is fairly good quality. Also notes working in it is a bit like an archaeological dig.

Philosophy of engineering work is a focus on maintainability. Dev team thinks in terms of StarCraft being playable in 10, 20 or even 50 years.

3/4 of SC:R games are played at near-LAN latency or better. LAN latency fwiw is 24 turn rate.
