I'm surprised how common cannon rushes are in mid-Master's NA. It feels to me like a weak opening in PvT compared to defensive macro into early 3rd Nexus.

Do you mean cannon rushers would perform worse if they tried a macro style, so therefore the build strength trade-off ends up being worth it?

As someone whose cannon rushing skills are roughly 700 mmr higher than my macro, yes. Not true for everyone but I think the skillset is very different in a lot of ways.

Very interesting! One thing I've noticed is the build order traversals are way different. Makes standard play from the T less efficient and easier to get caught out by the P in the post-rush phase.
