I had never seen this. I don’t have words for this. How could anyone top down have green lit this?

David Letterman was always vile. I never understood the appeal. But as a very sheltered small town rural kid, I was so fascinated that there was a "concert" on these late night shows every night. Jay Leno was just as gross.

Wow, what monster. Multiple people up the ladder signed off on this; writers, producers, etc. And the audience laughed. I can't say what I would have done if I were in the audience back then, but if that happened now I'd leave. Heck, I'd leave if I worked for the show!

I should mentioned I interned at Maury, which was exploitative as hell every week. I'm wiser and smarter now; I wouldn't put up with this today.

The only good late night host was Craig Ferguson. Change my mind.

Watch some old interviews with Dick Cavett. He was the best. Intelligence and sensitivity is unfortunately a rarity.

I couldn’t watch the whole thing but “Now you sound like Dr Phil” is an excellent response to that bs
