I remember those days. I moderated for CNN on CompuServe in the 90s and we did great. Kept people on topic, fed quotes to the producers in Atlanta and jettisoned the jerks after one warning. Good times!

This makes me think of how the old idea of “netiquette” has gone by the wayside. I recall it well from the 90s and early 2000s internet. Like the generally accepted idea that you should get a feel for a community, avoid stsrting arguments over things that had been debated-
