Ah. And now we have achieved the second person to send this article to me. I’ll keep it short: natural occurring uranium is not a radiological health hazard. Detectable is very different than dangerous. It is, however, a heavy metals hazard if you ingest or inhale it.

Coincidentally, I did the calculations for how radioactive the depleted uranium on Sardinia from target practice would be. Undepleted uranium is about twice as radioactive. Ore varies depending on composition but can be somewhat higher. Even so....https://twitter.com/BobKerns/status/1097429306970492928 …

I have a hard time reconciling the stated radiation levels with uranium ore. The stuff IS toxic as a heavy metal. It shouldn't have been there in that uncontrolled manner, regardless. The use of gloves, etc. would ordinarily have been thje procedure, but w/ the stated radiation?
