To the heartless people complaining US might have sent some ventilators to China at the peak of their epidemic. You'd rather have people in China die of lack of ventilators when we weren't yet hit? Not just heartless but stupid because of the below. Ventilators should go to need.https://twitter.com/lumiere2016/status/1244323105272500224 …

i'd love an epidemiologist to chime in here, but my understanding is that if China's medical system totally collapsed in mid-Feb, things would be a lot worse around the world right now. also, we're not short ventilators by the number we sent China. we're orders of magnitude off.

i understand that right now the focus is here where we are, but "public health" logic isn't necessarily intuitive. the exponential buildup of measures taken back in January/February prevented people from doubling (& doubling that & doubling that & doubling that) # of infections

Are doctors and nurses the callous rage peddlers? I think the callous rage peddlers are the usual callous rage peddlers--the ones who want to exploit a humanitarian act for political advantage.

Doctors and Nurses are certainly the most vocal, passionate group denouncing Trump’s decisions that resulted in our current critical shortage of PPE. China owns the supply chain for PPE. They built a hospital in a week - They could ramp up mask production, not need our reserve.
