Big Brain Skrewlars: ACKSHUALLY ancient Greek statues were painted but paint got washed off with time leaving bare marble, perpetuating a "myth" of whiteness Reality: yes, the paint that showed them blond-haired and blue-eyed got washed off...pic.twitter.com/jPqbdj69Xm

Wait, Hold on. You're telling me that people who worked or fought in the glorious sun of South Europe, covered in oil, and naked, for sport, were TAN? Un-Fucking-believeable? How will white people EVER recover from learning about TANNING?

Greeks and Egyptians only became brown after hybridizing with feral brownskins from the East. The most important lesson from Ancient Greece is that of Blonde Zeus hybridizing with a common brownskin human and thus began the downfall of the God race. DO NOT HYBRIDIZE.

It makes me violently angry that the reconstructions of the paint depict it as looking like something a five year old would do Yeah they sculpted these naturalistic, nuanced, beautifully designed figures and then slapped paint by numbers paint on top. I dont think so

From article: ancient Greeks considered darker skin” 4 men to be “more beautiful and a sign of physical and moral superiority.” Funny how people who worship the sun n believe strength can b gained from the sun would somehow get a sun tan. But hey focus on the dark skin aspect

Something else, I’d say a reason sculptures of gods and heroes were painted is bcz they believed the gods were alive and walked among us.

The bronze ones weren't painted. Crazy how the materials used made them look like tan Europeans.
