  8. I just want to say one more time, don't hesitate to take care of the people in your life. Yes, get help. But I worry about creating narratives around suicide that suggest that the person didn't seek help or didn't try or didn't know solutions.

I read this book last month while trying to understand a friend’s suicide and found it immensely helpful. Maybe you will too!

  11. seeing so many people being open abt their mental health & journeys is inspiring. this shit thrives in silence; sharing is a revolutionary act. thank you to everyone who is letting us in, you are changing things 💜💜💜💜

  15. Wondering at what point we’re going to sit down as a nation & truly discuss mental health. Talk PUBLICLY about the intricacies of each condition, and how they manifest for each of us individually. I understand the need for privacy, but when does it turn into suffering in silence?

We need to watch out for people this week. From old article: “The evidence suggests that suicide “outbreaks” and “clusters” are real phenomena; one death can set off others. There’s a particularly strong effect from celebrity suicides.”

Most suicide prevention hotline posts I see on Twitter include only a US number. Here is a list of phone numbers across the world to use if you need help. Don't be afraid to call. You aren't weak. You aren't a burden. You deserve happiness.

  18. i am sorry to be slightly hot take-y but we always remind people to “seek help” but we don’t address the crushing factors that can make this feel impossible enough. if you’ve been in that hole, you know how dark and (sometimes shameful) it can feel to put the pain into words.

We can keep this billboard up until August. Beyond that, we need help: 300 a month. RCSO declines to even announce this reward. There is NO other way for Augusta to learn of the twins' disappearance or how they can help the case. Donate here:

Tweeting this as much for myself as anyone else - it's ok to log off of this miserable website, especially on days of heartbreaking, triggering news. Close your browser, delete the app. The world will still be here when you're ready to log back in, I promise
