    Many activists still think Skype is a good choice. In reality it's convinience. Where all users are there will be usage. It's hard to move to another platform since it means moving the other audience as well...

    why are so many activists keep using telegram - a messenger with so many known security flaws?

    Iranians are setting their hopes to to circumvent the iranian censorship during the protests. The rest of the tech community should be ready for the next protests and in solidarity build decentralised software that can't be as easily shut down. Time to move now!

    Danish government is sending patient data to USA without telling their cititzens. Personal privacy should be default, not opt-in. Government transparency should be default, not opt-in. We all know the consequences of privacy breaches, but still do too little to defend against it.

    If we as programmers, activists and citizens would use decentralised software instead, this type of censorship would be much harder. Decentralisation will mean solidarity in 2018.
