Mitt Romney’s views on Trump were and is clear to anyone. He spoke out against Trump several times DURING his campaign. https://www.google.com/amp/s/fox13now.com/2018/01/15/romney-trumps-comments-antithetical-to-american-values/amp/ … https://www.google.com/amp/s/wtvr.com/2018/11/03/romney-takes-issue-with-trump-calling-the-media-the-enemy/amp/ … https://politicalwire.com/2018/06/25/romney-says-hell-speak-out-against-trump/ … Some people are willing to serve the nation, even if it means serving under Trump.https://twitter.com/brithume/status/1080330908547330049 …

Well why didn’t he repudiate it and let the voters in on his view of Trump. I know why and so do you. It’s the same reason he was happy to be considered as Trump’s Secretary of State.

Those were disagreements with Trump on individual matters, not attacks on Trump’s character and fitness to hold the office. I think Romney has doubted that about Trump all along. He just muted it when it was useful to do so.

You don’t need power or a mandate to say what you truly think. You may need courage however.

The context here is Romney’s recent Senate campaign in which he had received trump’s endorsement and happily accepted it.

I'm tempted to say Romney was just being gracious, but based on the other tweets I just copied above, it's not justified. Unless Romney truly believed Trump had changed, which he clearly didn't, he should have rejected the endorsement.

Romney is merely saying out loud what many conservatives have known and felt all along with the Trump presidency. Its about time GOP leaders begin speaking their true minds.

Now Brit, lets have you look in the mirror. What do you see? Courage? Integrity? Honesty? I suspect that, like a vampire, you likely see none of those traits. And even if Romney stepped up to the plate late in the game, you’re still, sitting way down the bench.
