Actually, not at all. While James was good, I just thought that Daniel's performance was better.

You are definitely entitled to your opinion! It just seems funny you used Viola Davis with a “ are you crazy?” Look on her face which is an interesting choice. If you thought the performances were THAT close why would you be so appalled?

Yes, it definitely was in the wrong category - not that I expected better from the HFPA. I mean, they had The Martian in the musical/comedy category last time.

That's because Franco was better. Did you even watch both movies. Both actors were great, Franco was better.

I have to agree with Rob. Franco completely transformed himself in the role, the performance was just better. You have to see The Disaster Artist. The films though, different story.

Yes, I watched both and while James was great, I just felt it was a bit too caricature-ish but that's just my opinion. I also think that Daniel should have been nominated in the drama category, not comedy.
