Only if you label progressives as “far left”. I think a lot of people are progressive but the word has become synonymous with extremism as part of the media’s narrative. It’s not helpful.

The Progressive Party meet its demise long ago, it’s remnants cling to the Democrats. Trump doesn’t have a “party” what he has, are people that want to keep more of what they work for, less intrusion into their lives. Republicans didn’t give us that either

A third party means compromise would be required. We might return to the day when there was consensus.

Oh please, Brian! It's far more complex. Many progressives are willing to align now with conservatives in total objection to everything Trump represents. You really need to stop this both sides BS.

So the Democratic Party is “the fringes” too? Uh no. This is the rotten “both sides-ism” when it’s one party thats in compete control of all three branches of government, smashing and destroying norms, and bringing us to the brink of a constitution crisis. But “both-sides”. Lazy

This is the lazy thinking that brought us trump and his congressional sycophants. The more extreme their norm breaking behavior, the more the media “both-sided” extreme republican behavior. They paid absolute no price for it. Now there’s whining from those that built this house.

No. She’s forgetting the #NeverTrump republicans who are not progressives but see the GOP as suffering an existential crisis. They will defy partisan boundaries as long as it takes to destroy Trumpism.

Was it 9/11? (4 US airliners hijacked) Was it the 2000 election? (Hanging chads) Was it the Iraq War? (Trillions in debt, ISIS). Was it Wall Street’s collapse? (led by a banking system bailed out) Or was it the Great Recession?

Progressives are being actively fought and often defeated by the Democrats. Democrats don’t get to claim “progressive” when the most progressive person in Congress is an Independent and the powers that be in Democratic Party hate him.
